Zyon served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an ammunition technician specialist, achieving the rank of Corporal (E4) before his honorable discharge in 2022. Following his military service, he enrolled at Los Angeles Valley College in the fall of 2022 as a student athlete and became part of the UMOJA African American program, which supports Black students pursuing higher education.
Throughout his active duty, Zyon remained dedicated to athletics, playing tackle football for the Camp Pendleton base team and earning individual awards in several Southern California semi-pro football leagues. After transitioning from the military, he developed a passion for flag football, a sport that connected him with like-minded individuals who shared similar interests and goals.
Zyon's involvement in flag football led to international championship victories across multiple countries. His success has inspired youth and others in the community to follow in his footsteps and achieve more than they thought possible. Zyon emphasizes that people who share his background and aspirations can excel beyond their own expectations faster than they imagine. The key, he believes, is building meaningful connections with the right people at the right time.
