Joshua Carlson served two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 2019 at the rank of Sergeant (E5). Throughout his military career, he specialized as an Ammunition Technician and Logistics Specialist. Additionally, Joshua held key leadership roles, including Substance Abuse Control Officer and Security Manager responsible for over eight hundred and sixty personnel. His commitment and leadership earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, recognizing his dedication and hard work.

His influence as a leader is evident in the success of the Marines he supervised, having mentored and helped promote four Marines into positions of trusted leadership through meritorious advancement.

Beyond his military service, Joshua has a strong passion for sports, particularly football. He began coaching youth tackle football for two seasons, which sparked his love for coaching and mentoring young athletes. This passion continued during his time in the Marine Corps, where he served two seasons as a head coach in the Camp Pendleton Football League. Under his leadership, his teams competed for the League Championship and secured one victory.

Joshua remains committed to coaching and aspires to coach at the Junior College level. His enthusiasm for sports also inspired the development of CRTFD Pillars’ sports programs, aimed at fostering a love for sports and giving back to the community.
