Event: Apex Gambit — 5v5 Contact Flag Football Date: Saturday, May 3 Time: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Format: 5v5 contact flag football, tournament-style play with guaranteed multiple games

Overview Get ready for fun, fast-paced, and competitive flag football. Teams will play 5-on-5 with contact allowed consistent with flag football safety rules (controlled contact—no full tackling). The event uses a tournament bracket to maximize game play; every team is guaranteed several matches.

Schedule

  • Check-in & roster confirmation: 11:15 AM – 11:45 AM

  • Captains’ meeting & rules review: 11:45 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Games begin: 12:00 PM

  • Playoffs/Bracket rounds: 3:30 PM – 4:45 PM

  • Awards & wrap-up: 4:45 PM – 5:00 PM

Team and Game Details

  • Team size: 5 players on the field; roster up to 12 players (recommended)

  • Game length: Two 20-minute running-clock halves with a short halftime (clock stops for injuries and timeouts)

  • Timeout: Each team has two 30-second timeouts per game

  • Field: Standard flag football dimensions (or adjusted field specified at check-in)

  • Scoring:

    • Touchdown: 6 points

    • PAT from 5-yard line: 1 point

    • PAT from 10-yard line: 2 points

    • Safety: 2 points

  • Overtime: pat shoot out

  • Substitutions: Dead-ball substitutions only

  • Contact rules: Controlled contact allowed (e.g., shoulder-to-shoulder, redirecting); no tackling, pile-ons, or hits to the head/neck. Officials will enforce safety-first standards.

Equipment & Uniforms

  • Flags required for all players; rental or on-site sales may be available

  • Cleats recommended (no metal spikes)

  • Matching team shirts recommended for identification

  • Mouthguards required

  • All jewelry must be removed or taped

Registration & Fees

  • Team entry fee (include amount if determined) due at registration

  • Roster deadline: at check-in on May 1
